Who knew that Neil Armstrong‘s giant leap for mankind would one day lead to a world of space porn?
Digital smut mogul Pornhub is trying to raise $3.4 million on Indiegogo to shoot an adult film in outer space. Established industry stars Johnny Sins and Eva Lovia are already signed on to the zero-gravity venture.
If the campaign is successful, the pair have their work cut out for them; they must pass some notoriously difficult astronaut training. But Lovia, at least, is more than up for it. As she puts it in the video on Indiegogo, she’s chasing the opportunity to work two dream jobs at once: astronaut and porn star.
The costs associated with getting humans into space are astronomical. If the campaign is successfully crowdfunded, approximately 60 percent of that money will go toward simply getting the cast, crew, and equipment into outer space. This leaves 21 percent of the budget for the production itself and the rest for various smaller costs.
In order to convince people to part with their cash to back an X-rated mission to space, the producers are offering various rewards for pledges at different levels.
The $20 “Assteroid” level gets you into a Q&A webcast with Sins and Lovia. Backers at the $200 “Jupiter” level get a signed copy of the movie and a swag bag that includes a Pornhub Space Program T-shirt. Things peak out at the $150,000 “Uranus” level—you get one of the stars’ spacesuits, including their underwear.
PornHub VP Corey Price spoke to the Daily Dot via email with more details on the project, which at press time had raised just shy of $1,300.
THE DAILY DOT: Couldn’t Pornhub just spend $3.4 million to make this happen right now?
COREY PRICE: With a project of these intergalactic proportions, it is important to us that our members have a say in how it all goes down. Pornhub is all about community, which our huge and dedicated fan base knows to be true. For this same reason, it only makes sense that we involve our members on this journey of Sexploration.
What kinds of space training is already taking place, if any?
Our actors, Eva Lovia and Johnny Sins, will be thoroughly trained before the mission is executed. They will go through the same training procedures Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and every other astronaut has. The crew will undergo various phases of training to learn both technical and soft skills, gaining proficiency and mastery.
Zero gravity must present all kinds of production challenges, no?
We’ve thought it through thoroughly. The production of the video will begin when the spaceship takes flight. Filming will commence upon takeoff and as the ship climbs, so too will the lovemaking.
As soon as the ship reaches its maximum altitude there will be weightlessness (zero gravity) for at least a few minutes. Our actors will be having sex and climaxing within that time frame—ideally, of course. Thankfully we have a very experienced production crew and directorial team to help make the money shot happen in a way that looks dynamic and revolutionary for viewers.
What’s left to fuck in after outer space?
A sex tape at the bottom of the deepest ocean comes to mind…
