TikTok audio trend attempts to catch people who watch Pornhub

Back in January, Khaleel Abdullah posted a TikTok where he’s about to look at Pornhub—you hear the site’s drum-driven community intro music, recognizable to those who regularly visit.

His “mom” walks in and he quickly changes the tab to Childish Gambino’s “Redbone,” which syncs up perfectly.

@khaleel

never get caught lackin 😁

The video now has more than 4 million views, but a trend has sprung up around the audio, titled “hey lol,” as fellow TikTokers used the sound to gauge whether friends and family recognize it. YouTuber David Dobrik helped the sound go viral this week, when he tested it on his little brother.

HAHAHAHAHA testing to see if my little brother knows this sound !!!!

As many commenters and TikTokers who engaged with the trend noted, younger kids are likely looking up because they hear something or see a camera, not because they actually look at Pornhub.

But others had fun with it, and potentially learned something about their parents, kids, significant others, and especially pets.

Earlier this week, Abdullah told Distractify that he was inspired by another TikTok about someone’s mom walking in on them watching Pornhub, and asked a friend to make the mashup sound for his video. He said he “never” expected the audio to go viral.
