If you’re hoping to get your paws on a brand new iPhone 6S, it may be as easy as masturbating into a Dixie cup. That is, if you’re a dude in China.
An advertisement for two sperm banks in China’s Hubei Province posted to Chinese social networking site Weibo shows a photo of a new pink (sorry, “rose gold”) iPhone, which men is apparently being used to entice men to donate their sperm.
The ad reads “You don’t need to give up a kidney to raise cash to buy an iPhone 6S as you can get enough money just by donating sperm!”
According to Chinese newspaper Changjiang Daily, some people are not so sure this is the best way to attract donors. However, an a statement to the paper, one of the Hubei Province sperm banks called the ad “ordinary promotional practices.”
Dr. Zhu, the head of recruitment for one of the sperm banks, also said that it has been difficult to attract donors. And what better way to get men through the door than offering a free, shiny new gadget?
IPhones retail for about $1,000 U.S. dollars in mainland China, according to Fortune, so really, this is actually quite a good deal. It might seem unethical to donate sperm simply for a new phone, but just think about the quality of your Instagrams.
