Brand loyalty can border on fetishism, but Pornhub has revealed the true kinks of its visitors broken down by mobile operating system. It’s the ultimate Android vs. iPhone debate.
First and foremost, a surprising amount of people access Pornhub on their smartphones: Over 60 percent of traffic to the site came from mobile device. That’s a huge uptick from just five years ago, when Android and iOS combined for just 12 percent of all Pornhub traffic.
Combine that information with a recent Verizon study that revealed 90 percent of people use their phone in the bathroom and the primary takeaway is you should never, ever ask to borrow anyone’s phone ever.
Most of the folks heading over to Pornhub on their phones are men, by a 3 to 1 margin. Most visitors fall between the age range of 18 to 24 or 25 to 34. There’s no data for people under 18 because they call truthfully answer the “Are you over 18?” prompt and immediately leave the site.
While we know tons of people are perusing the offerings of Pornhub from their mobile device, the habits of those users have a distinct divide when broken down by operating system.
Viewers watching from an Apple device, for example, spend significantly less time on site. The average visit by an iOS user is eight minutes and 40 seconds with 9.8 page views. Android users are either more leisurely in their browsing habits or have slightly more stamina when it comes to consumption, as they log just a tick over ten minutes per visit with nearly 11 page views.
What are those users looking at during those windows of smut-viewing? Android users showed a distinct interest in Pornhub categories including “BBW,” “shemale,” bukkake, and ebony. Visitors on iOS devices showed preference to selections tagged “MILF,” female-friendly, bondage, ass, and lesbian, among others.
Interestingly, Apple users seemed more interested in realistic porn, viewing a larger amount of point-of-view, amateur, and “reality” footage. Android users, on the other hand, showed an affinity for animated options from the hentai and cartoon category.
When heading to the search bar to find something specific, Android users sought out porn featuring black performers considerably more often than their Apple counterparts. Six of the top seven search terms for Android users included “black” or “ebony” in it.
Pornhub’s iOS visitors seemed to consistently search out familial content, searching terms like “step dad,” “step mom,” and “step sister” with more regularity than Android users.
While it seems like there’s a great divide in pornographic preferences between Android and Apple loyalists, there are some similarities to bond over.
The most popular search term for both operating systems was “lesbian.” Despite Apple users having more interest in sex between relatives, “step mom” and “step sister” appeared within the top six search terms for Android as well. There’s a considerable amount of crossover, including phrases like “teen,” “ass,” “squirt,” “gangbang,” and “massage” among others.
In the end, it turns out Android and iOS users have much more in common when it comes to porn habits than one might expect—namely that no matter what operating system you use, you’re probably a degenerate.
