If the advent of DVD was the adult film industry’s Big Bang, the advent of streaming video is the free porn evolution we’ve been waiting for. Many of today’s most popular porn sites have been around for over a decade and have built up massive archives of content. Today, these sites can accurately predict the trends and content that audiences might want to see next. Mofos.com is one of these legacy websites featuring primarily amateur porn. Launched in 2008, Mofos porn has been around for a little over a decade, bringing the hottest amateur models to porn fans around the world.
Of course, longevity can sometimes lead to complacency or a lack of new content. Is it worth it to pay for a Mofos.com membership? Here’s everything you need to know.
Mofos porn cost
Mofos features relatively standard pricing for a premium porn studio. But beware—it doesn’t offer a free trial. Rather, you can sign up for a two-day trial for $2. If you don’t opt in for a full-time membership after two days, though, your trial will renew itself at a rate more expensive than the standard monthly rate. If you subscribe and skip the trial, the site costs $29.99 per month or $59.99 for three months, averaging out to $19.99 per month.
Purely from a cost standpoint, it’s clear that the best deal is the Mofos annual membership, which rounds out to $9.99 per month.
If you’re a stickler for a deal, Mofos offers discounts a few times a year. At the end of 2018, it offered a special annual rate of just $79.99 per year, averaging out to $6.67 per month. That’s less than three months at the standard rate. There’s also a VIP Mofos membership that costs an extra $10 per month. We’ll talk about that later.
What is included in your Mofos membership?
1) Four updates per month on average
Mofos almost always updates four times per month, or once a week. Occasionally, you’ll find a month with only three updates, but that’s a rare exception. Scenes feature decent variety, (or at least as much variety as cisgender, heterosexual porn offers). MILFs, hot wives, girlfriends, college students, threesomes, anal, sex tapes, sex in public, and the list goes on.
2) Over 3,700 scenes and counting
Over Mofos decade of existence, it has pumped out a lot of high-quality content. There are over 3,700 scenes on the site with more added every month. If the average scene is half an hour, that means Mofos has 1,850 hours worth of content to tickle your fantasies. You’ll never run out of things to watch even if you blow through all the new content uploaded each month.
3) 15 sites worth of content
Much like Brazzers, Mofos separates its content out into easily searchable sub-sites that focus on specific fetishes. For example, Girls Gone Pink is for lesbian sex, and Share My BF focuses on threesome swinger fantasies. Each site creatively plays with its theme, whether it’s kinky or fairly conventional.
4) Massive cast of amateur porn stars
Mofos’ biggest selling point beyond its archives and incredibly gorgeous women is just how many models are featured on the site. There are 114 pages of porn stars on Mofos, almost all of whom you’ve never seen before. More importantly, the scenes featuring porn stars you do know are typically from earlier in their careers, giving you a sneak peek into their pasts. Curious about Mia Malkova, Riley Reid, Janice Griffith, or Christy Mack’s early work? Mofos has it in all its glorious detail.
5) Easy to navigate
We can’t overstate how nice the Mofos site is to navigate. The drop-down menus make finding exactly what you’re looking for really easy, complete with simple filters. More importantly, the site is blazing fast, without any heavy flash bogging down your system. Users can also comment, create a watch later playlist, or bookmark their favorites.
Mofos Premium membership cons
1) VIP membership is the only way to download videos and drives up the cost
Want to download any of your favorite scenes? You’ll need to pay up again. Mofos requires users to get a VIP membership before they can download. This particular quirk wouldn’t be an issue if it was a part of the annual membership package, but Mofos doesn’t mention this anywhere on its membership tour. In fact, you have to finish paying for your membership before it comes up. It’s a strange thing to keep from users, but it’s an even stranger thing to charge extra for. Mofos costs as much as other premium sites that don’t charge extra to download content.
VIP members do get a few perks, however. They receive early access to downloads and extra videos from the so-called “Mofos Vault.” But when you’re already paying $29.99 a month for a porn site, it’s a bit frustrating that you have to pay more to download.
2) No 4K porn
This isn’t a total dealbreaker because most Mofos videos feature HD porn. But if a site is going to charge you extra to download video, it better be the best video around. Our preference: If you’re going to charge for downloads, start shooting in 4K. It’s worth noting that some of the archived Mofos videos are in standard definition. We don’t think it’s fair to punish them for that, but for more recent content, 4K quality makes a difference.
3) No VR porn
Given the Mofos VIP issue, it’s strange that Mofos charges the same as other premium sites like Naughty America without offering the same services. However, unless you’re already invested in watching porn through a VR headset, this also shouldn’t be a huge dealbreaker.
4) Lack of diversity and fetishization
One of the most frustrating aspects of mainstream porn is how overwhelmingly white it is, and the fact that performers of color are often relegated into racist porn categories that fetishize or demean. Mofos could do much better when it comes to featuring male POC, and though its female-identifying models are more diverse, it’s still mostly white, hetero, cisgender performers. The women of color and queer women featured are often performing in scenes that fetishize their race or sexuality for the male gaze.
Is Mofos worth it?
Mofos is an incredible porn network. While some other sites rely too often on a steady stable of the same performers, Mofos.com features a ton of newcomers and amateur talent. It’s the sort of variety you probably wish more sites had. Add in Mofos’ cleverly executed fetish sites and it’s easy to recommend the site. The 1080p content is beautiful, despite the site’s lack of 4K or downloadable content.
That being said, the Mofos VIP membership is frustrating. Members are faced with extraneous charges for features that most premium porn sites provide for free. If money is no object, however, Mofos is a solid choice for a mainstream, amateur, hetero porn site. But if you’re on a budget, Brazzers or Naughty America might be friendlier to your wallet.
